Huh?

I think an XT3 would be the same price as an ATS and they could use the next gen Encore and make a $29k subcompact XT1. I don’t think any sedan is coming in below the ATS this decade. Maybe a 2-series competitor since that would make sense with de Nysschen’s plans for Caddy though. You know, if we beg.

Oh yeah, let’s reverse all the good will Cadillac has built with rwd platform sedans with a FWD only budget car.
Also, what would it compete against? The BMW 1 series? RWD. the Audi A3? Possible, but I think it’s going to be a tough sell.
Now, if you’re talking Chinese market then i think you’re on to something.

Let’s be honest, Cadillac’s cheapest offering should be the current CTS with proprietary engines and smallest should be some sort of AMG GT fighter.
Buick should make the 3 series and M3 (Avista, duh) fighter, essentially a luxury four door Camaro.
Cadillac needs to start pushing upmarket to give Buick and Chevy room to breathe. A 911 fighter would help the most

Have you seen an ATS Coupe in person? It almost leans more 2 than 4 series in size.

The Audi A3, the MB CLA, the ILX, the Lexus CT (if they decide to do an e-assist version). The segment is growing and doing well.

That one is hard to say. It’s the size that a compact sport sedan is “supposed” to be according to the usual model bloating complaints. I would have to see the XE in sizing to get an estimate though if it is the right size for its purpose or too small for its class. I do expect whatever replaces the ATS nameplate to be longer and not so low though.

It either needs a bit more length or different packaging. Both the sedan and coupe have dismal back seats. When I used to sell Cadillacs, I used to hate going on test drives with more than one customer in them for that reason.
